This project will supply students with tools to support their reading journeys. The whisper phones will allow students to hear themselves reading stories. The mirrors will allow students to see what their mouths do as they pronounce certain sounds. This will help them articulate words and be accurate in their reading. Finally, the letters will be used as a way to have students practice reading as well as spelling words. The big font will allow the letters to be used during whole group instruction so that all students can see and participate. The pens will allow students to use tablets with a tool equivalent to a pencil.
Reading instruction is a big part of first grade.
Many students are working on vital skills that they will use for the rest of their reading careers. I want to give my students the best opportunities to hone those skills and become successful readers.
