My Students

I am a K-5th grade special education teacher, located in a public school in Brooklyn, New York. The school is located in a high needs community and many of the students are supplemented with free or reduced lunch.

I have 12 students in my classroom with different types of challenges.

All the students in my classroom are standardized assessed. In addition to my special education classroom, my students have counseling services, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and/or Speech Services.

My Project

The students will be able to learn reading skills by using alphabet letter manipulatives and math manipulatives in order to learn number sense.

By using magnetic letters, students will be able to recognize letters, form words, and write sentences.

The math manipulatives will help students make sense of numbers, as well as add, and subtract to solve word problems.

Students will benefit from hands-on instruction by funding this project. I look forward to working with my students to make learning more engaging for all types of learners. Thank you for your support.
