This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I really love that my Kindergarteners enjoy listening and viewing virtual Read-alouds. Also, I love that they really enjoy listening to me reading to them, the traditional way; as if we were in class for a whole group reading lesson. My class is an amazing group of kindergartners that love to predict and discuss what they have learned, from each text they had heard in our virtual setup. Also, they enjoy making anchor charts, writing, and drawing about the text that we have read in class. They would also discuss this with their classmates and enjoy doing so.

My Project

My kindergarten students will enjoy a diverse genre of books, during the return of the in-person teaching and learning this year. I am eager to start reading and discussing the different books that are asked for my class. We know kindergarten students love to predict, compare, discuss and share different opinions on what's read to them. By the end of the school year, my goal is for my students to be able to read independently from one of these exciting texts that we are asking in this project. Also, I want to teach my class how important it is to take care of our books. So, we will be creating a classroom library so that they are able to sit down and relax while reading their favorite textbook.
