Reading About Diversity and Culture

Help me give my students an opportunity to read a book about diversity and culture. "Soy Bella" is an ode to the Latin American identity. It's a perfect children's book to learn about the history and heritage.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

It’s important for children to see someone who looks like them in literacy. This children’s book celebrates diversity and helps young children recognize the beauty in different experiences. “Soy Bella” is an ode to the Latin American identity. It’s a perfect children’s book to learn about the history and culture we see in our families.

Students will have the opportunity to hear stories and learn from different cultures and experiences.

Students will use this book to share stories around identity and family heritage. This will allow students to share cultural experiences an embrace their own identities. This will kickoff Hispanic Heritage month.
