Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
The world has changed and we have to change with it. Unfortunately, COVID-19 has made an negative impact on education. Now that schools are open for teaching and learning, I am sure that my little ones are very excited, happy, and ready to learn their ABC's and 1,2,3's. I teach at a Title I school and the majority of students are socioeconomically disadvantaged. I will teach with fidelity and with a nurturing heart for all students.
My students' MAP assessment foundational skills were very low.
My students are required to know the Nevada State Standards (RF.K.1d, Recognize and name all upper- and lowercase letters of the alphabet. RF.K.2 Demonstrate understanding of spoken words, syllables, and sounds (phonemes).
We are desperately in need of support for our literacy, math, and science centers. Learning centers foster independent practice and support lessons taught daily. Learning centers also provides students the opportunity to learn how to social emotionally interact with other students. Let's kick off this year building teaching and learning to provide an awesome welcome to school experience.
Teachers encourage minds to think, hands to create, and hearts to love.
My Project
COVID-19 affected Pre-kindergarten readiness for now entering kindergartners because students did not have the opportunity to receive face-face direct instructional learning. COVID-19 delayed explicit development of phonemic awareness and phonics.
The resources I have requested are related to Nevada Academic Content Standards: RF.K.1d: Recognize and name all upper- and lowercase letters of the alphabet.
RF.K.2 Demonstrate understanding of spoken words, syllables, and sounds (phonemes). RF.K.2c Blend and segment onsets and rimes of single-syllable spoken words. RF.K.3 Know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words. RF.K.3c Read common high-frequency words by sight (e.g., the, of, to, you, she, my, is, are, do, does).
