My Students

I have a great class with students at a variety of reading and math levels. They LOVE a challenge. I'm hoping these books will challenge their imagination and increase their reading levels.

I have 18 2nd grade students.

We have a great time in school but not all of the supplies we need to achieve the growth I know they can achieve. The students are eager to learn about themselves and others through the magic of a good book. I'm hoping they catch the reading bug this year!

My Project

Our reading block is divided into several parts: Phonics, Shared Reading (a whole group lesson with a new skill introduced), and Guided Reading (the old fashioned reading groups). The students are grouped by reading level, skills needed or fluency. While I'm working with a group, the other students are working on silent sustained reading at their seats. This requires many books. We need more books. I've already seen growth this year!

These donations will help increase my students' reading levels, fluency and love of reading.

They will also encourage my students to exercise and live a healthier life style. They will be better, stronger and healthier!
