Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

There are many things that I love about my students. The top reason I love my students is that they LOVE to be read to. All my students are engaged whenever I am reading a story to them. I see them making connections to their lives, being inspired by characters in the books, and having a greater drive in themselves to read more books. In my opinion, the most powerful tool that you can give a student is the love of reading. When I see students begin to read books without being told, I feel like I have won. Knowing that when my students leave my classroom and they are taking away the power of reading, I know that they will succeed in anything they do.

This project will help pass along this love of reading to my students at home.

These books will be given to the students to take home and read. I want my students to be able to pass their love of books and knowledge to family members at home as well. My goal is to spread the love of reading to not just my own students but their family members. I would love to hear that my students are reading or being read to at home each and every night. I know that these books will help my goal come true.

Mrs. Malley will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by June 13.
