Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are inquisitive, compassionate, and eager to learn! I have 35 fourth grade students who come from low income families who have limited resources at home. Three-quarters of my students have an individualized learning plan which provides them accommodations for learning and completing assignments in the classroom. The other one-fourth are ESOL students learning the English language.

Making technology readily available for my students will give them a hands-on approach to reading and learning new concepts and skills.

My Project

I want to spark an interest for reading in my students as well as a love for reading that will last a lifetime! Technology is the way to make learning more engaging, fun, and hands-on for my students. Your donation will not only help my students develop a love for reading but it will ultimately help me create our leaders of tomorrow.

My students are required to work on iReady every day as part of our reading block, and giving them access to these laptops will allow them to accomplish their daily and weekly reading goals.

Each student has different goals to accomplish weekly, so technology in our classroom is an investment in their academic achievement as well.

Reading is fundamental to everything they will learn and do in their educational lives. With these laptops, my students will also be able to read books and practice their comprehension on apps available online through their student portals. As you can see, my students are missing out on a lot because we don't have access to computers in our classroom. Will you help me mold and develop our future leaders?
