Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

It is October, and my second graders are working hard in all subject areas! It has been so awesome to see their growth from the beginning of the school year until now. My whole class is filled with hard-working and dedicated second grade students who want to do well. However, a few of us are still a bit behind in encoding and decoding words, reading sight words, and overall putting sounds with words. Our small groups range widely in levels of ability and what students can do on their own. For this reason, we are requesting resources to help us become better readers!

There is nothing more inspiring to see than when our students are working hard and putting their best effort into their learning.

It is important to me that I give my students all the necessary resources they need to do their best. That is why my co-teacher and I are requesting funds for a Yoto Audiobook Machine and the audiobooks to go with it. This will help support my students who are struggling to read with the correct way to say words and put sounds together. We have also discovered that our second graders LOVE the pigeon series. It has really become a source of such lighthearted fun in our classroom that we would love to add not only the physical books to our classroom library, but some cute accessories as well!
