Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project consists of the Sunshine State books for grades K-2 and grade 3-5. The purpose of the SSYRA program is to develop student interest in reading for pleasure by exposing them to a wide range of appropriate literature.
Sunshine State books are selected for their wide appeal, literary value, varied genres, curriculum connections, and multicultural representation.
Students can listen to these books read to them, read them in a small groups, or read independently to develop skills in fluency and comprehension. I hope this program and these books will encourage by students to read for fun!
