Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Many of my students are English language learners and are eager to learn! They work very hard despite the fact that learning challenging for them at times because of language barriers. Their resilience inspires me on a daily basis. Many of them come from other countries and their parents struggle financially. Despite these hardships, my students still manage to persevere through adversity.

My Project

This year has been very challenging for me and my students, to say the least. I have many students that have physically come back to our school building, but I have many students that are learning from home. A subscription to Scholastic Scope Magazine will provide my students with much needed resources for expanding their knowledge and skill sets of reading and writing. My students will find the articles engaging as they navigate this new normal that our country is facing. I will also be using the articles and stories in the magazines in order to prepare them for state testing, since their current textbook does not offer enough variety to keep them engaged.
