Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach 4th and 5th grade English Language Arts. Our classroom is focused on reading and writing. Each day 90 children come into my classroom throughout the day to learn to become phenomenal readers, and writers. My students love to read! They truly are a special group of children. They come from low income, backgrounds, and many of my students are Latino, asylum-seekers. Therefore, I would love to have books in my classroom that the students can have access to when they want to independent read. The more books that they have access to in my classroom, the more that they will read, which will help them to become more fluent and build their comprehension

Their favorite part our ELA classroom is our classroom library.

Therefore, I would like to give my students brand new books that they can choose from and continue to cultivate a love of reading with those books.
