My Project

I'm an elementary school English Language Arts and Reading teacher. This means I get to spend each day teaching fourth and fifth-grade readers in one of the best rural schools in Oklahoma! My students are a diverse group with varied levels of learning. Our classroom is a space where students enjoy coming to learn. We are a Title I school with the majority of our students receiving free lunches. These students have huge hearts and love to learn in non-traditional ways including room transformations, arts-integrated lessons, and project-based learning.

During COVID, our students were confined to Chromebook learning and were not able to interact in person with their peers.

But, my students love using hands-on tools, and they are happier when they can work together on projects.

To make our upcoming units more engaging, we are requesting books, crayons, markers, whisper phones, whistles, games, and a shredder. These will help students stay focused as they work and help me as a teacher with classroom management!
