My Students

My first and second graders are amazing! I'm so lucky to be their teacher! They're eager to learn and love reading and using technology. By the end of the year, my goal is for every student to leave my classroom with a love of reading, writing, math and science.

I teach twenty five first and second graders.

Many of them are multilingual and are learning English as their second or third language.

I'm so proud of my students for working so hard to master all their grade level standards. As their teacher, it's my job to foster a love of learning. Especially, a love of reading and writing. This begins with an inviting classroom filled with high interest books and comfortable seating for students to practice reading.

My Project

These books will be added to our classroom leveled library. Each week, students select six new books at their reading level. Having books that are of high interest to students is important for them to continue to grow and improve their reading skills. It's motivating and students love to select new book each week.

Several of these books focus on careers and community helpers.

I selected these books so students can begin to learn more about lots of different types of career or jobs. It's important for teachers to have a great selection of books for all students to choose from.
