My Students

Our school has a unique community of learners. Currently, we have 596 students enrolled to which we are 130 students over our maximum capacity for our building. Our students come from such a diverse background but that is what makes us unique and special. In my classroom, we have five different home languages with English being spoken at various language abilities. We pride ourselves on being a community of learners. My students are the greatest: kind, considerate and very giving to each other.

My Project

These materials will make a huge impact on my students because it will allow them the opportunity to have a wider variety of materials to use to build on their foundational and reading comprehension skills. I have some reading materials for my students to read; however, it would be beneficial for them to have exposure to more topics and stories to broaden their literary horizon. AS for my non-readers, having a listening center will boost their confidence because it will give them more opportunities to build on reading comprehension and give them a greater chance to contribute to group conversations.
