Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are ALL going back to school, (literally). We will be back in the school building. Some students have not been inside a classroom, let alone a school building in over a year. Even though some attended school virtually last year, this year will be an adjustment for all. My students come from diverse backgrounds with different challenges. They come to school for a sense of normalcy.

I have not met my students yet but I am excited to begin this new year off prepared and ready to teach them.

In my experience, students love to help and support one another with their work and love fostering new friendships. The only difference this year is the fact that they will have to wear masks and practice social distancing for their safety. I'm sure they will adjust to "the new normal" and will have an amazing year!

My Project

These materials will supplement our reading curriculum. Some of my students struggle with comprehension. I want to provide them with the necessary practice that will help boost their confidence and discover a love for reading.

The materials are perfect for independent practice as well as follow-up assignments.

Students got so accustomed to completing assignments virtually, having their own workbooks will help ease the transition of working with hands-on material, not just with chrome books. They will also have fun while learning about themselves and others. (Diversity) They will also learn to write in cursive, which I believe is very important at this age.
