My Students

My fifth-grade students are working diligently to increase their twenty-first-century skills and self-esteem. They are highly motivated students in need of higher level thinking opportunities. I am interested in supporting my students in achieving their dreams by helping them access their inner potential.

My students are deserving of the best the world can offer because they are our future!

They are a fun-loving, creative and dedicated group of learners coming from primarily Latino families located in suburban California. Our school has about one thousand students in a PreK-5 environment where free or reduced-price lunch is the standard. We are co-located with a magnet school on our campus.

My Project

Is the art of reading a book obsolete? I sure hope not! I have noticed a decline in reading for pleasure in my students. Yes, there are books you can read on your iPad or Kindle, but I have found that my students do NOT enjoy this. So I want to bring back the brain-engaging wonders of comic books.

Max Axiom, Super Scientist comic books will be a perfect way to get my students excited about reading and also fill them full of the wonders of science and engineering technology.

Get my students off of the electronics for a short time and let them discover the adventure a book can take them on.

Bringing the spark back into reading for my reluctant readers is one of my goals. Let's get my students some novels that are packed with knowledge, stimulate creative thinking, and foster a love of learning.

My library is in need of stimulating books for my students to read. Help me fill a small spot with some graphic novel comic books. Help me hook these minds on books.
