Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a great energetic bunch of eager learners ready to accept the daily challenges of the learning environment.

Our school is an inner-city school located in South Florida. We are a diverse low income community. The staff is ready willing and able to handle all obstacles that come our way.

My Project

My students need a touch iPod and cable to record, listen, and critique themselves through stories. My students will be able to record themselves after listening or reading a story. Students will also be able to comprehend passages after listening and giving feedback from story questions. As students are actively involved in directing their learning they will declare ownership and become more involved. Students will work in teams of three. Additionally, students will be able to increase their vocabulary and comprehension skills as they progress in the literary process. I have requested an iPod touch digital player, a smudge-proof shield, a case, and an iPod video cable kit.

By supporting "Read to Me!

I Podcast to You" my students will be able to develop verbal skills and increase their vocabulary and comprehension skills that they struggle with due to being Second Language Learners. This project will motivate my students and give them a new sense of learning through innovative technology.
