My Project

Please help me to supply my students with a variety of nonfiction books to choose from during independent reading time. Over the past few years, I have seen a growing interest from the students in nonfiction topics (especially animals, dinosaurs, famous people, and weather). I love that they love nonfiction books because they provide opportunities for each kid to study topics they love and to become more knowledgeable about those topics. Additionally, they open up interests that the students may not have know they had.

While I teach 2nd grade, students come in at all different reading levels and it is my goal to provide interesting non-fiction books that encompass a variety of topics for every, single student in the classroom and in future classrooms.

Please help support our independent reading time by helping to provide new and interesting titles to some amazing kids that just want to learn more and more every day! For so many students, taking time to relax and enjoy a great book is the best part of their day. It provides them a time to focus on their own, personal interests and goals. It is my favorite part of the day as well because there are always intent faces with smiles all around the classroom. Thank you for supporting the kids!
