Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember how you felt when you had a new book? My students are dual-language and they read in both English and Spanish. They need more Spanish books to continue developing their native language.

My students are sweet, intelligent, motivated third graders.

They are mostly immigrants to the U.S or the children of immigrants from the Caribbean and Mexico. They are quickly learning and adjusting to life and school in New York City. Our school is part of a tight knit community that in a high poverty area of the city.

My Project

I am requesting a variety of new Spanish books for my class library. We are so fortunate to have many books in English but my students need to be able to read in both languages. The bean bag chairs will allow my students to have comfortable places to sit as they read.

Please help my students have new books to read this year!

The best part of this project is that my classes in the future will benefit from this donation! You will be allowing my students to have a wonderful year and continue to be dual-language learners!
