Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach kids from transient and low socioeconomic households. They love to learn, but don't always have the pre-academic skills needed to be successful! The Read Play Talk Room was imagined by kindergarten teachers to provide a foundation of oral language development to help them gain the skills needed to be proficient readers and writers.

One of the most important things needed for these learners is an extensive library of books.

These young readers will discover themselves through their experiences with high quality, multi-cultural picture books.

My Project

Reading, playing and talking, along with writing all work together to make literate individuals. These colorful, high-interest picture books will stimulate conversations and growing oral language skills. Developing students oral language skills directly affects their ability to talk and write about books.

Having books available at school is so important for these kids because many of them do not have books in their homes.

With a classroom library, it will be easy for them to practice the skills they are learning at school that will help them to become amazing readers and writers.

Most of all, these books will allow the students to grow their love for reading and writing.
