My Project

My Classroom Library needs your help!

The books I’m requesting will have a lasting impact on my kindergarten students by fostering a love for reading and providing the tools they need to grow as early readers.

These carefully selected books will help my students develop important literacy skills like phonemic awareness, sight word recognition, and comprehension while offering them the opportunity to explore a variety of genres and topics. Many of the books also feature diverse characters and cultures, which will allow my students to see themselves reflected in the stories and expand their understanding of the world.

My goal for this project is to create a classroom library that encourages independent reading, builds fluency, and nurtures a deeper curiosity for learning.

By offering books at different levels and on a range of subjects, I can meet the individual needs of my students and empower them to choose books that interest them.

What makes my students special is their boundless curiosity and joy for learning. They come from diverse backgrounds, and many are from low-income families who may not have easy access to books outside of school. For some, this classroom may be the first place they’ve encountered a wide variety of books that reflect both their experiences and the world beyond. With your generous support, we can provide these young learners with the resources they need to thrive and build a solid foundation for their future education.
