My Students

I teach in the heart of North Philadelphia. The economic inequity my students are exposed to makes access to quality education a necessity. That said, they come to school each day with a mind to work hard and reach their fullest potential. Their excitement for learning makes my job the BEST job in the world. My kids face many challenges every day, but their circumstances don't define who they are/who they can become.

Joyful, curious, and determined are all words that describe the amazing kids I get to call my students.

I would like to create an atmosphere where my kids feel at home and have access to the resources they will help them reach their full potential.

My Project

Having access to books is essential to a child’s development in the classroom. These books will allow me to teach lessons on topics like self-esteem, empathy, and even more academic knowledge like character traits and character motivation.

These books will be another resource for my kids to explore the wonders of learning within a safe and conducive environment.

I can hardly wait to see their eyes light up when they get their hands on these amazing books!

I teach in a predominantly African American school, so many of the books I chose have characters who represent them. That certainly make a difference for my students!
