Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are scientists, technologists, athletes, engineers, and mathematicians (among many other things!). They are super curious and want to make a change in the world.

As part of this, they need to have ample exposure to the skills and materials that students in affluent neighborhoods have.

My students, for the most part, come from a neighborhood in a large city in Arizona. They aim to be scientists, technologists, and problem-solvers, tackling real-world issues. With your help, they will achieve these ambitious goals!

My Project

Finding books that I could get lost in when I was in high school helped me become a lifelong reader.

Data shows that the best way to develop lifelong readers is by helping students find books they love.

This project is a small move in that direction: it helps them find books that have been loved by millions. This helps prepare them for the rigors of college and, better yet, helps them to develop a love of reading!

These books will go into all of our high school and some of our middle school classrooms, providing classrooms with mini class libraries.

Teachers will be able to use them in their instruction, and students will be able to check them out for their own personal reading!

Your donation will help us achieve our goal of schoolwide literacy!
