Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In February, I plan to invite mystery readers to our classroom to read books written by diverse authors and set in locations worldwide. The collection of books requested in this project highlights and celebrates the cultural uniqueness of the students in my class and some cultures my students are unfamiliar with. After reading the books, students will map book locations on the world maps requested.

This book collection will serve as models and inspiration for my students to write their own stories in the blank books using the colored pencils requested.

Providing students exposure to diverse books will expand their worldview, improve the cultural representation in our library, and focus on improving racial justice.

This project will support me as I work to improve the future...one thinker at a time. Please consider supporting this.
