My Students

Our children are becoming writers right before our very eyes! I am a kindergarten general education teacher who is most passionate about teaching writing. I have 24 kindergarten students who live in a great area of South Carolina and are subject to many great opportunities.

Reading published books aloud to students that are filled with endless possibilities for teaching writing inspires them and shows them that they can become writers just like the authors of these books.

Showing them the technique and reading like writers allows them to be confident enough to try these writing styles, too.

My Project

We are in great need of these books to share with students to give their own writing a purpose and meaning. These are the future authors of our time. With the specific books requested I will be teaching my kindergarten students the qualities of good writing within the context of illustrations. My students need to be able to see how decisions made by both the author and illustrator have an impact on anyone who reads the book!

Please provide them with the opportunity to see the richness of published authors.

Please support me in being able to share rich literature and quality illustrations with my 5 and 6 year old students. Give them a chance to share their experiences through the written word.
