My Project

In our 4th-grade classroom, reading is more than just an academic skill—it’s the gateway to understanding the world. To inspire a love for reading and improve literacy skills, my students need access to engaging read-aloud books and quality headphones.

Read-aloud books play a crucial role in our daily routine.

They help students build vocabulary, strengthen comprehension, and develop critical thinking skills. Listening to a story read aloud allows all students, regardless of their individual reading level, to experience complex texts that challenge their understanding and expand their imagination. Read-aloud books also introduce students to diverse perspectives, characters, and cultures, helping them connect with the stories and fostering empathy.

Headphones are just as vital in supporting literacy growth. Many of my students benefit from listening to audiobooks, educational podcasts, and individualized reading programs. Headphones provide the opportunity for focused, independent learning by eliminating distractions, ensuring every child can engage deeply with their reading. For students who require additional support, such as English language learners or those with learning differences, headphones create a personalized learning experience that meets their needs.

By providing my students with these resources, you will help create an environment where every child can thrive as a reader. With read-aloud books, they will be captivated by stories that inspire them to dream big. With headphones, they will develop independence and confidence in their learning.
