My Students

Teaching is my passion! I teach kids of all academic levels and backgrounds. What makes this group special is their unique personalities and their different life experiences. I have students who I need to challenge, because of their high intelligence. I have students who I will need to give extra time to help them achieve simple milestones. And I have students that need a teacher who cares because of the struggles they face outside of school.

Building social and emotional relationships with my students is super important to me.

Students are welcomed with hugs, high fives, and by name each and every day they walk into my classroom. By doing this, I gain respect and they gain confidence in themselves!!

My Project

Establishing good routines at the beginning of the school year is essential to having students know what is expected and to be expected of them. Through read alouds, these books will be used throughout the first weeks of school to help all students feel welcomed and accepted, but most importantly that they belong in my classroom!! There are activities for each book that will allow students not only have fun reading but learn while reading.

Teaching students how to be expressive readers and how to make the story more engaging and understandable will help in their fluency and becoming better readers.

Not only are these books fun though, but they can also be taught in ways I can hit standards through cross-content areas - such as reading, writing, phonics, grammar, vocabulary, and much more!!
