This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are just like me. They go to school in the same neighborhood that I grew up in. They are inquisitive, thoughtful and resilient. They motivate me each and every day to give the best version of myself as an educator. They remind me that they deserve the very best education possible.

My students are eager to learn.

They started the school year with enthusiasm and determination to reach their academic goals. They deserve the very best learning environment possible.

My Project

Read-aloud time is crucial in order to develop higher-order thinking skills. My students love this time and look forward to sitting at the gathering place everyday. Not only do we use this space for reading, but it is multi-functional. We use it for restorative circle time and to give important announcements to the entire class. Unfortunately, our current rug has seen much better days and is in desperate need of replacement. It has lost much of its grip and is extremely worn down. Please help me surprise my class with a brand new Lakeshore rug. It is a gift that will be used not only for my current classes, but for future students.
