My Project

Every morning I read a picture book to my students. My students thrive on our daily read aloud--it helps us build our literacy skills, social-emotional skills, and gives us strong, collective experiences. These picture books will give my students an outlet for their imaginations, feelings and satisfy our need for normalcy.

The past three years have been both eventful and challenging.

My students have experienced so much, and yet, every day they show me how resilient they are.

There are so many amazing books in this project, such as: "Mae Among the Stars," "Stacey's Extraordinary Words," and "The Kindest Red: A Story of Hijab and Friendship".

These are books that we need in our classroom. Students will be able to see themselves represented and put themselves in other's shoes as they listen to these books. My students will be inspired, engaged, and positively impacted.
