Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students are a diverse group of learners who have a curiosity for learning. I love how fun-loving, energetic, and joy-filled my students are. They come to school with smiles that brighten the classroom. They have many interests and things that bring them joy. One in particular is reading! When story time begins, every eye and ear is captivated.

My young students, who are pre-readers, love engaging during read-alouds.

The materials in this projects will give our classroom book sets of beloved stories paired with the read-along CD that narrates the text word for word. Students will be able to follow along with the CD, to promote and encourage independent reading. For pre-readers, this will build student's print concepts, and promote the retelling of stories and other emergent reading skills.
