Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is a Title I public school located in inner-city Los Angeles. Many of my students come from low-income families and do not have regular access to books, supplies, or even regular homework support. They depend on teachers and school staff for support.

They are eager and enthusiastic students who come to school to learn new things every day with a positive attitude.

I strive to provide them with an environment that can help them be successful. They are curious about all things around them and the unknowns.

My Project

The books are a great tool that will be used during independent reading time. Students will be able to book shop from a larger selection in non-fiction & picture books from our classroom library. It will give students the opportunity to choose from varied subjects; such as science, social studies, American History and different children's picture books that may spark their interests.

Not only will the books reinforce topics taught in the classroom they will also give them an opportunity to enjoy reading.

The books will provide kid friendly literature that supports different subjects & nurtures the love of reading.
