Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are 8 and 9 year olds. They are in the 4th grade. They live in an underprivileged neighborhood where they face difficult challenges on a daily basis.

Their parents lack the funds to purchase items to support their educational needs.

They have the capability to learn however, they are unable to accomplish their goals to their fullest potential by not having the materials needed to complete the task.

Any help would be appreciated by my students as well as myself. We thank you in advance for your support!

My Project

Have you ever got lost in a book? Have you ever felt like you were bathing in a river with the cool breeze hitting your face? That is what I want for my students! I want them to feel a book and be touched by it while learning about history!

The books I am requesting are powerful books that will stay with my students for years to come.Roll of Thunder, Hear my Cry and Sarah Plain and Tall are two of my favorite books from childhood.

If I can allow my students to experience these books the way I have, then my job is done! Won't you please help us get these various books for our book club?
