My Students

I have a class of 12 Kindergarten students with special needs. They need to have small group time to work on skills I have taught them, but there are not enough materials for everyone to use. My students need exciting activities to work with so they can enjoy learning and have fun while doing so.

My school is in a very low income neighborhood.

Most of their learning is done only at school. The more materials and resources they are exposed to during the day, the more learning will get done. With these materials, I feel my students will improve their reading readiness skills and become independent readers. My students need a variety of ways to practice the skills that I teach them.

My Project

While we work in small groups, these interactive student centers would help my students with skills they are learning and will give them a hands-on approach to it. I feel that my students would benefit from a variety of centers to choose from to work on their pre-reading skills to help them become lifelong readers.

This project will provide my students with a variety of ways to enhance their phonological awareness and reading skills.

They will be able to practice daily on skills that I am teaching them. Allowing them the opportunity to succeed will foster their confidence and love for reading.
