My Students

My students are 28 energetic students that come from many different backgrounds. We are an English Language Learner Classroom so not only are we learning 4th grade common core curriculum, we are also learning how to read, write and speak English. It is a daunting task but my students are always bright eyed and ready to learn every single day!

These students are energetic, vibrant, and inquisitive!

Everything is brand new for them so the teaching experience has been especially fulfilling and we are constantly growing!

My Project

What is happening outside of our classroom? Do our students know? Probably not! Our students need to know what's happening in the world! We want to learn more about history and science and what better way to do but through Scholastic. These magazines will provide our ESL students with the pictures and words that they need to understand difficult concepts. These concepts include our recent elections and how a plant lives. These concepts can be very complicated for a student new to the country!

It is important to incorporate different types of print and genres into our academics!

These magazines will provide us the opportunity to achieve that goal. These magazines will assist our students to appreciate the printed word and to really see photos of things that are happening in our world right now! What better way to enhance their academic achievement!

We want to thank you in advance for donating to our project! This a very generous donation to our students and will help them become more aware of current events!
