Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are readers, writers, explorers, soccer players, artists, activists, and so much more. They are committed to their education and their school community. The neighborhood where my school is located is a vibrant, largely immigrant community. Many of my students are English Language Learners who are working hard to acquire English as their second or sometimes third or fourth language!

My students are creative, lively, and curious kids.

They come to school eager to learn and engage with their classmates, teachers, school community, and beyond.

My Project

My school serves a diverse student population with over fifty percent of them being English Language Learners. They are part of an amazing school community that truly cares for each and every child's well-being and success.

For the past four years, students in my classes have received Scholastic News and absolutely love it!

This magazine will allow my future fifth graders access to engaging, grade-level reading material that will help keep them informed about current events and issues that pertain to their lives. They will be more engaged with what is going on in the news and will be able to advocate for themselves and others.
