Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have had the luxury of teaching the PK3, PK4, Kinder, and 1st grade Scholars Music this year. It has been a experience unlike any other. My scholars are able to benefit academically by receiving a book of their own from their teacher. Many scholars miss the connection between books and Specials Classes otherwise known as Electives. I saw this brilliant book called 'Your Name is a Song' so many Scholars deal with differences in culture and it is significant when it comes to their name. This book will help scholars understand that their is meaning in their name and it has a song.

Identity of self is significant at all stages of life and the impact of self-awareness can shape the future of young minds when cultivated with books that represent characters that resemble oneself.

'I Believe I Can' helps to foster encouragement when things get tough, 'Ada Twist, Scientist will help scholars connect to real world Scientist as they learn via a STEM program. 'Parker, Looks Up!' enhances the connection to the Real-World in observing ART of the 1st Lady in D.C. 'I AM Enough' will aid them in understanding that they are indeed Enough. 'M Is for Melanin A Celebration of the Black Child' will aid the scholars to be comfortable in the skin their in at all times. WHile 'Ambitious Girl' will let the girls know that there is NO limit to the Success that they want to achieve. 'The Youngest Marcher: The Story of Audrey Faye Hendricks, a Young Civil Rights Activist' will help them know that there is not an age limit to be effective and to make a difference that will have a great impact for many.
