My Project
I work as a Speech-Language Pathologist with minimally verbal and nonverbal children who would greatly benefit from the support of play-based toys and communication devices. My goal is to help each child reach their potential. I believe having these materials would give my students the access to do so, as play and language development tend to mirror each other. Research also shows that the use of communication devices may lead to verbal language output. My students exhibit challenges expressing their wants and needs and it would mean the world if they could use a device to help support their communication.
