My Project

I teach students in an alternative education program. My students have all had disciplinary violations at their neighborhood schools and many have been in juvenile detention, on house arrest, or in juvenile justice diversion programs. Many of them are looking for safety and stability when they come to school.

With the materials from this project, I will be able to re-decorate my room to create a more welcoming, home-like space for students to read and work.

The bookshelf will make my classroom library, which consists of books and board games, look nicer and more organized, which will encourage kids to use it! The wall tapestry, posters, and rug will fill in blank spaces on the walls and make the room feel more comfortable. I would love to be able to upgrade my classroom with these materials.
