My students are hilarious and love learning. They just need exposure to resources so that they may flourish. I have come to the realization that the students just need to be hooked so that they can choose to commit. I have introduced my kids to many different activities over the past years.
With each new activity, my students have taken ownership, loved it and met my expectations!
I have had fun introducing them to new academic vocabulary and also having them remind me of the activities and goals we have set for the classroom. There are days when I totally forget things and they remind me or they even mimic my oral language. When they do this, I know that what I do matters and they are really internalizing lessons and conversations.
2021 has started and as we prepare for more virtual learning, the goal is to educate and create memorable moments in ways we never have before. I would love to have a class set of an elementary student friendly Ruth Bader Ginsburg biography given how recently our nation was reminded of her achievements.
The plan is to read the book like a typical read aloud while students follow along with their own copy as we celebrate and learn about amazing women during Women's History Month.
We will then continue our learning as we incorporate writing standards to write about RBG and other outstanding women in history.
