My Students

I am currently a Reading Interventionist that works with several small groups daily. My small group, of 4-5 students, need extra support in reading or math. I focused on specific skills to build confident students.

My school has over 300 students and we focus on student success as well as academic achievement.

We are a Title 1 school and many students are on free/reduced lunch. My students are hard working, creative, and excited to learn. They challenge me as a teacher to be the best I can be.

My Project

I am asking for two Bundles of Unifix Letter Cubes, on class set of Hot Dots Jr. Pen Pals, Hot Dots Reading Informational Text set, a Simple Stopwatch,and five packs of Highlighters. The reading materials requested will be used weekly, if not daily, in the classrooms. It will impact over 30 students a day in first, second, and third grade.

These materials will support the additional reading instruction that students receive.

It will make reading a more hands-on experience and a more enjoyable experience with different manipulatives. Using the Unifix cubes for phonics instruction and the Hot Dot materials for comprehension will help our readers who need extra support in a big way. The stopwatch will be used for timing fluency passages and the highlighters will be used to find evidence in text.
