Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kids always come to art class excited to learn. My classroom enables children to become creative and learn to admire and seek beauty. My objective is to use art to teach about humanities with lessons that emphasize literacy through playing, singing, drawing, painting, and molding!

When it comes to my kids, the right types of papers, writing tools, and other hands-on arts and crafts items enhance reading activities from language arts classes.

They get particular pleasure in synthesizing literacy lessons with project-based activities. They always demonstrate bolstered confidence when utilizing raw materials as scholars in integrated learning during their school day. Any specific kid's talents in language arts is a basis for art production. The difference these materials make! Through cutting, gluing, tracing, glittering, and building, my children manipulate regular writing assignments so that they become bedazzled activities and shift emphasis toward vital ownership. In the arena of a school community that supports arts education, this is of vital importance. My children demonstrate accountability with goal-oriented challenges in a studio environment where quality, consumable materials are used in art projects.

My Project

I want to use art to teach about a time in history. The ornamental arts of Asia offer a terrific entry into pattern on fabric. Empowering students through art, these materials will aid in each child's proficiency, developing reading and writing skills. Activities with Crayola's "model magic" enhance skills in sculpting with a theme of personal calligraphy and letter forms. Utilizing markers and watercolor pencils aid in decorating the surfaces in a rich, cultural motif from the arts of the Orient. Imagine learning to write your name in three dimensions and then in another language and alphabet! This activity will grow aesthetic awareness of hands-on crafts in art. Critical thinking is encouraged in planning fabric sewing and paint projects for personalized T-shirts, an end-of-year expression of school pride. These requested markers, pencils, modeling clay, fabric markers, sewing needles, felt, and most of all, T-shirts engender a unique, valuable experience my kids deserve in their school.

A child who feels liked and loved is a child who can become a responsible scholar of the world.

These personalized projects help to augment every one of their rich, worthy thoughts and feelings. Learning to subordinate raw materials in a creative way when considering reading and writing, and what place that has in life, turns my children into free thinkers and augments all future endeavors into a pursuit of excellence! As well, in assessing Asian culture, they will have utilized art to learn it.
