My Students

I currently teach a self-contained class in a Title I school. Funding is very limited and so are the materials. Many are English Language Learners; many are special education, and most (approximately 90%) qualify for free or reduced lunch. These students come to school excited for learning and love to get their hands on anything that will help increase their learning. Many of these students go home to houses with little to no updated technology. All students are reading 2 years below grade level. Beyond these odds, my students work hard to achieve a level one status and are fabulous human beings. These students are excited to learn and absolutely love learning

The students have been slowing growth with their work and feel so excited to continue to learn more.

My Project

What’s better than a special education classroom filled with bright paper and resources available to help the students learn. Here I am requesting various items that my school does not supply or have limited resources. My students are visual learners and require delivery of lessons in many different ways.

Paper is useful to help me to differentiate my instruction and to help them see the lesson in different levels.

Dry erase boards are great to see how to students intake the materials. Bright color papers help to attract the students to the lesson. Since my students do not have markers we always have to purchase more and more as we love to color.
