My Project

The Comfy Storage Bench and the book sets will be a much needed addition to encourage literacy development and the joy of reading in our Reading Center. Students are able to make choices during their time in our Reading Center at least twice a day. They will love having a comfortable place to sit to enjoy the books. They also love having books with print that is familiar to them and will help them with the picture to word connection.

My goal for this project is to encourage and inspire my Pre-K students to practice the very important skills that go along with learning to read.

These skills include holding a book, left to right directionality, letters make words, and words have meaning, just to name a few.

Pre-K students are naturally excited about learning to read. My students have faced the challenge of being born during the height of COVID, which I believe has caused some speech and language delays. Therefore, it is more important than ever that I provide these precious kids with every opportunity to embrace and enjoy the love of reading. The Comfy Storage Bench and book sets will be a big factor in doing just that!
