Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
All kids love to be outside and play. They get to move their bodies, breathe fresh air, and escape the confines of the classroom for a short reprise. This helps them reset their brains and provide them the stamina needed to continue learning in the classroom. What happens to these kids when it starts to rain and they can't go outside to run and play? Their brains, bodies and moods all suffer, because they aren't able to tap into that playing spirit they require.
My project aims to provide my students opportunities for fun activities they can engage with during rainy day indoor recesses, letting them tap into that fun spirit provided by games and puzzles.
Students will be able to play competitive rounds of Connect Four or Sorry, or calm down and Zen-out with a puzzle. They will be able to clear their minds, and see that being indoors can be fun and rewarding part of school during rainy day recesses.
