Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach grades PK3-5th! My students love music! They look forward to coming to my class and often don’t want to leave.

My students absolutely love to dance, and make music, and it’s hard to get them to stop!

It's such a joy to see how big their smiles are and how excited they get when we are dancing and playing music games. Of course, right now we have to get extra creative with our activities to make sure our students stay safe.

I'm always blown away by the amount of joy that parents expressed towards how much fun their children were having in my music class. I can’t wait to see what the rest of this fantastic year will bring!

My Project

I am very thankful to have 14 ukuleles in my classroom. Students have had a blast so far getting to experience playing a ukulele.

Rainbow Ukulele is a program I can purchase through teachers pay teachers that has almost 600 reviews with a whole 5 star rating.

The whole bundle is $80 for a student and teacher edition to be printed or used digitally.

With the remaining $20 I plan to purchase another TpT resource called Pitch Hill. This resource will teach solfege through storytelling and engaging PowerPoints. This resource also has raving 5 star reviews. Solfege helps students learn the relationship between notes, how to sight read music, identify patterns, and uses all types of learning styles.

I’ve been interested in these resources for months now, but they’re pretty pricey. I’ve seen both being recommended across various elementary music Facebook groups.
