My Project

In my class I do not give extra credit to students because it can be unequitable to students who don't have extra time or resources. Therefore, to motivate my students I began using a ticket raffle system, in which students are put in to a raffle and receive prizes every Friday!

These prizes help to encourage students to participate, be courteous and respectful to others, to work hard and achieve!

Prizes have in the past included snacks, stickers for their water bottles or laptops, crock charms, and fidget toys. I even recently added an Aero grow kit where I plant seeds in the classroom and then give away the growing flowers at the end of each quarter.

Though my students are Juniors and seniors, you would not imagine how much they are motivated when I tell them "I will give you a ticket if you answer the question." My prize system has transformed my classroom making it an engaging and positive environment for everyone!
