My Students

Have you ever been interested in a topic and not had books that you could read? My students are eager to learn about new topics and explore the genre of non-fiction.

My students are of mixed abilities.

They are in 4th grade in a public school in Queens. They attend a Title I school. My students are eager to learn new things. They come from many different countries and English is not always their first language. My class is homogeneously mixed.

My Project

By providing my students with non-fiction books at their reading level, they will be able to do research on topics that interest them and with books they can read. Non-fiction books are often very difficult to read and are difficult to navigate for children. These books will help my students learn about the genre of non-fiction and about many different topics.

These books will help to create life long readers and researchers.

Life long literacy is important for the success of my students in school and in their future lives and careers. Your help will help to provide them with the materials they need.
