My Students

My students are an enthusiastic, creative, thoughtful & curious bunch of kindergarteners! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically.

In our classroom, I make sure to meet students where they are and to teach using a variety of methods and mediums.

My absolute favorite subjects to teach is reading! Establishing a solid foundation for reading in Kindergarten is so important and so much fun!

My Project

Research shows that students learn best when they have real, tactile experiences. Learning to read is no different! These engaging, hands-on materials will help my students have meaningful experiences with letters & words. It will give them ways to make connections about letters and their sounds and provide opportunities for actual word BUILDING through the use of manipulative. My struggling readers need sensory experiences to help their brains concrete the shape and formation of letters so that they can also be strong writers. I cannot wait to improve my small group literacy lessons with these materials!
