My Project

We're embarking on an exciting project titled "Quilted Visualizations: Exploring Fraction Multiplication," where students will fuse math and art by creating quilt blocks that vividly depict the area model for multiplying fractions.

Through this project, students will delve into the concept of fraction multiplication in an engaging way.

They'll be immersed in the world of quilting, using fabric and sewing techniques to represent the area model for multiplying fractions. Each quilt block will visually illustrate how fractions combine and interact to yield new fractional areas, reinforcing their understanding of multiplication.

Mathematics often becomes more tangible and comprehensible when experienced hands-on. By sewing these quilt blocks, our students will not only reinforce their math skills but also enhance their spatial reasoning, creativity, and teamwork. This project goes beyond the confines of textbooks, empowering our learners to grasp mathematical concepts in a unique, memorable way.

To bring this project to life, we need your help! Your generous contribution will directly fund the purchase of sewing supplies and math resources that will enable our students to create these vibrant quilt blocks.
